Scenario: It’s almost lunch time, and if you’re anything like me, you’re rather peckish, and would like something light to nibble on before the main meal. My solution to this is my homemade honey roasted peppered almonds. Quick and simple to make, and highly nutritious! Could devour these in seconds tbh! Haha
You can also try this out with other nuts like cashews, Brazil/pine nuts etc
Ingredients (for 5 servings)
- Nuts (Almonds, Walnuts, Cashew, Pistachio etc) (250g)
- Coconut/Olive Oil (10ml)
- Black Pepper (3 Pinches)
- Honey (200ml)
- Cayenne Pepper (3 Pinches)
Instructions
- Pour Honey into Pot , melting honey in the process
- Pour nuts into honey pot
- Add black and cayenne pepper
- Stir & bring to boil (ensuring all nuts are coated)
- Heat oven to 200°C
- Line baking tray with coconut oil
- Spoon out nuts from pot and evenly spread into tray (Do not pour directly from pot to tray, you do not want honey fluid in tray)
- Place in oven for 10 minutes
- Remove from oven and allow to cool down for 10 minutes before serving
